Biography
Imam Mohammed ElFarooqui has been serving the Houston community as imam at the Islamic Society of Greater Houston for more than 5 years. A significant chapter in his journey commenced in July of 2022, when he assumed the esteemed mantle of Imam at the Maryam Islamic Center until February 2026. He currently resides as the Imam and Resident Scholar at the ICNA Outreach Center in Cypress, TX. His duties are directed towards the orchestration of education, youth, young professionals and programming pursuits within the precincts of this center. Imam Elfarooqui also serves as a Fiqh advisor for his community and a mentor for the youth and young professionals in their affairs. Imam ElFarooqui holds a Bachelor's degree in Islamic Sciences or an 'Alimiyyah degree from Jamia Nizamia, a prestigious private Islamic university in Hyderabad, India. He also holds a Master's degree in Fiqh from the esteemed Al Azhar University.
